Kent based law firm Vertex Law helped complete a £4million Grant Funding Agreement on behalf if its client The South East England Development Agency at the end of last year.  Under the agreement SEEDA are part funding the £17million construction of the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery in Margate. Kent County Council are leading the project and are developing the Gallery using funding from a variety of sources including SEEDA and the Arts Council for England. It is anticipated that the Gallery will be a landmark building acting as a catalyst for the regeneration of Margate and east Kent.

Kate Mayor, who is head of the Commercial team at Vertex, worked together with the Vertex Public Sector team on the negotiation of the agreement with lawyers from KCC. Kate also advises the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts on their grant funding schemes and was able to use her considerable experience in this area to advance this project.

Kate, who is also one of the members at Vertex said, “This type of collaborative working, bringing in skills from different teams across the firm, is clearly the way forward for providing a high quality and cost effective service to our clients. By using a combination of Commercial and Public Sector specialists on this matter we were able to ensure that the client received thorough and focused advice.”
