Our healthcare team are developing a strategic and focused expertise in helping and advising GPs and healthcare businesses, running GP practices. This expertise comes from our commercial team who have wide experience in contract law, partnership law and shareholder arrangements generally. This has proved invaluable when advising doctors transferring and buying practices. It brings a fresh approach to the arrangements between the GPs which is not weighed down by an overly narrow expertise in the field.
Our team are knowledgeable and have advised in relation to APMS, PMS and GMS contracts, including negotiation with the relevant PCTs. We are also experienced in reviewing supply contracts within the NHS and advising generally on terms. This is likely to be of more importance to GPs going forward.
In light of the recent reforms in the NHS, and the ensuing confusion, the team have also directed their thoughts to interpretation of the legislation, with a desire to be innovative in the assistance it gives to GPs negotiating a minefield of change and uncertainty.
